Harbor Hill Private Residence
In association with Jacobsen Architecture, McMullan provided structural design, construction documents, and construction phase services for this six-bedroom, custom-designed house overlooking Nantucket Harbor. Materials commonly used in traditional New England architecture are melded with the modular "monopoly house" forms for which this architect is renowned. This award winning, 22,000 SF home features three separate buildings for primary and secondary dwelling spaces, as well as a garage/pool house. Included in this residence are a swimming pool, wine vault, and home theater. The structures boast 30-foot-high ceilings yet are separated and arranged in such a way that the massing is restrictive in nature, reducing the apparent size of the square footage.
