McMullan is now woman-owned certified!

Since formally establishing McMullan & Associates in 1988, I have personally endeavored to mentor and collaborate with quality-focused engineers, hoping that one or more of them would rise to the level of succeeding my ownership and steering McMullan forward to even greater achievements. Reaching such a key transition milestone is one I knew was needed from the very early days of McMullan and would eventually see others lead the firm beyond my own vision and aspirations.

Thus, it is my pleasure to officially announce that Principal Colleen M. Nasta, PE and Principal Douglas E. Bond, PE, SE are now owners of McMullan. I remain on board to continue mentoring Colleen, Doug, and others at McMullan along with lending my insight and expertise on unique projects and those of historic significance.

It is also worth noting that McMullan is now officially certified as a woman-owned small business (WOSB) with the Commonwealth of Virginia SWaM Certification program as well as on the SAM.gov platform for federal contracts. Other WOSB certifications are in the works, as appropriate, and this site’s About page will reflect those when they are attained.

In the meantime, everyone here at McMullan is excited about this new chapter for our firm. Since Colleen and Doug joined McMullan, they have shared my own commitment to engineering excellence, being an active mentor and advocate for our engineers, and remaining civic-minded to always give back to our communities — professionally and personally. Looking to them as my successors was only natural and a decision I knew would enhance and expand upon McMullan’s well-regarded excellence in professional services for structural engineering and project management.

In their leadership and full ownership roles, I’m confident in the fresh perspectives they each bring towards expanding McMullan’s services into new markets and project types. More so, I trust that they will successfully listen and respond to the needs of each client and lead the firm far into the future.
